Does this decision help or hurt our Army in getting quality members to join USMA or ROTC? We may have gained one good officer, but lost many, many more. This is another shot in our own foot.

This blog is a project of a few field grade military officers attending the Command and General Staff College (CGSC) at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. We created a blog in order to facilitate a forum of discussion between us and anyone with an interest in the military. Oh, and to have a bit of fun. The publications by the officers on this site do not represent official military views, rather a candid & open discussion based on individual experiences.

Guess David Robinson didn't do much for the Navy either. What retention problems? Guess we really aren't struggling to keep young Soldiers in. Oh, well. Guess the DoD and US ARMY HRC really do know what they are doing...
Maybe they should let us know why they think a positive role model in the NFL is not good for the Army or the Nation. From where I am sitting, which of course close to the bottom floor, I would think everyone would bennefit. I am sure the Army would figure a way for him to make up his owed time.
Just a thought
Please, he attended West Point, made a committment, and now wants out to play a game. He went to school for free. What exceptions do we make for people? Where is the line?
Who said he wasn't going to pay? What about bringing new talent into the Army? Recruitment duty for a player would work great. If he didn't make the team...then off to a line unit.
Forget that. If my ass has deploy again!!!
